Send receipts on to your accountant
Chain a forward step onto a catcher so your accountant, or your Xero or QuickBooks inbox, gets every receipt, or only the ones over a set amount.

Every catcher starts with two steps: Save to Google Drive and Log to Google Sheet. You can chain more steps after them. This guide sets up the most common chain: send a copy of each receipt to someone who needs it.
Forward every receipt
- Open the catcher and click Add a step.
- Choose Forward to an email.
- Enter the address. That might be your accountant, or the receipt inbox your accounting software gives you (Xero and QuickBooks both offer one).
- Optionally add a short note. It goes in the forwarded email.
- Save the catcher.
From now on, each catch is saved to your Drive, logged in your sheet, and then sent on with the original file attached.
Only forward the big ones
Put an Only continue if… step in front of the forward step:
| Step | Setting |
|---|---|
| 1. Save to Google Drive | your catcher's folder |
| 2. Log to Google Sheet | your catcher's sheet |
| 3. Only continue if… | Total is more than 250 |
| 4. Forward to an email | books@youraccountant.example |
Steps run in order, and a filter stops the steps after it. In this setup every receipt is still saved and logged, and only those over 250 are forwarded.
Other useful filters:
- Vendor contains Amazon: forward marketplace orders to whoever reconciles them.
- Currency is EUR: send foreign-currency receipts to whoever handles them.
- Sender does not contain noreply@yourbank: skip emails you never want forwarded.
Get a summary instead
If you only want to know what was caught, add Email me a summary instead of a forward. It sends a short note with what was read and where it was saved, without the attachment.
Send to another tool
Send to a webhook posts the data that was read (vendor, date, total, tax, currency and more, plus links to the Drive file and the sheet) as JSON. Point it at Zapier, Make or your own code to do anything else with it.
How many steps can I chain?
